Well, things are starting to get fired up around here again. We are busy with all of the tasks that have to be done. Craig, our Construction Coordinator, is making decisions on the homes that will be worked on. Lee, our Project Coordinator, is looking over the facilities that we will be staying in. I am recruiting the churches that will be hosting our crews. Basically, everything is coming together as we get closer and closer to July 4.
If you are still following this blog from last year, thanks for staying with us. You will begin to see more activity from now until the start of the project. Then, as you already know, around July 2 this blog will take off and have lots of updates all week long. If you are new here, then I would like to welcome you and introduce you to what what this is and why we do it.
We call this blog "On Site" because it is all about the things that are going on here at our project. Between now and July, there won't be as many updates because there isn't really too much to blog about. We will have updates when circumstances call for them. Make sure and check back after April 25 because there should be a post about our Pre-Project visit. Then a few days before the project begins, you will start seeing multiple posts everyday. These posts will have information about what the crews are doing, life around the school, worship services, and pretty much anything else that we think would be worthwhile to blog about. We also like to include pictures (because we all know that everyone loves pictures).
The reason that we do this is so that people back home can see what their students are doing and also so that after everyone returns home, they will have something that they can go back to and have a small record of what happened during the week.
Go back into the archives and check out the posts for the 2008 project. You will get a better idea of what this is all about. I recently did this myself and it brought back some great memories of the awesome things that happened last year.
Bookmark this site, spread the word about it, and enjoy everything that we offer on it. Thanks for checking it out. We hope to see you again soon!
Your Bro. In Christ,
