Why is this the No Name post? It's because I wasn't creative enough to come up with a name for it. Oh well, who cares? As long as there is information about the project in here, that is all that matters!
So, lets go backwards to Saturday at 2 p.m. Everyone was waiting in anticipation, watching the front doors, hoping to catch a glimpse of the first crew that will check in. We wait. Then we wait. And we wait a little more. And finally, here they come! The First Korean Baptist Church from Lewisville, TX pulls up to the curb. Then the flood gates open, both in church groups showing up and water from the skies. Up until that point, the rain had held off fairly well, but as we started unpacking groups and helping them get to their rooms, it began to pour! Everyone was soaking wet and dashing back and forth from the vans to the doors. What a way to start the project.
After getting everyone moved in, the project started. We moved to the Opening Celebration, and then to supper. After a few minor issues with supper on the first night, we headed to Sonrise Baptist Church in Bonne Terre for worship and to watch the fireworks display by the City of Bonne Terre. This was a great way to celebrate the 4th of July. Personally, I was very impressed by the fireworks display.
We return to the school after the fireworks and the groups head to their youth group devotions and then start getting ready for bed. This ends day one (at least for the participants). The staff start preparing for the next day, but we will save that for a later post.
Unfortunately, something is not allowing me to upload any photos to the blog from this location. As soon as I can get access to somewhere that allows me to upload them, I will add photos here. Keep watching for them!
