Dueces

There's nothing like waking up at the crack of nine o'clock. Except waking up at nine o'clock hearing hammers and knowing that the friendly neighborhood World Changers had been already working for two hours. It's hard to believe that just a few weeks ago I was doing the ridiculous thing of waking up before 6 and working. Nothing like it.

So anyways, I made it to both sites today without any hooplah. Even got back without getting lost. I have vanquished thee, Bonne Terre. Today, I went to the Cinder Blockheads first. Nothing wrong with a little variety, right-ity?

Cinder Blockheads

So I rolled up on the Cinder Blockheads site much easier than yesterday. It didn't take fifteen minutes to find. (Yet somehow, I drove up from the opposite side than I did yesterday.) As I approached, ol' Crew Chief was directing operations on the roof, and a group were taking a break on the ground (as seen on the right), so I waltzed over and said hello. I was promptly introduced to Stanley the Stick and Fred the Hammer. Maybe, they'd been at break longer than I'd thought.... Anyway, we had a nice little talk, then I got a few snapshots of the workers on the roof and asked them how it was going. I also gave them strict orders not to fall unless I was there to get a picture. They felt the love. Buncha sweethearts.

Brush Bunch/Brick Bats

So as I got to the dual-project, the group was just sitting down for a devotion after their lunch. I milled about them and was able to snag a few waves and the occasional "How ya doin?" I got a few pictures of them gathered together, and a few of the work they'd done. They have ripped off quite a number of shingles. Not to mention the painting that the ground crew has accomplished, as you can see in the picture to the right. After getting my pictures, I ended up speaking to one of the guys who had supplied the lunch to the crews. After the conversation I got a few pictures of the group, then schedaddled. Hmmm.... is that with the 'ch' or a 'k'? Another topic for another time. In the meantime, rest assured that the World Changers in Bonne Terre are getting great amounts of work done.
