Tuesday (two days late this time)

OK. I have already admitted that I am sometimes slow to getting these things posted. This one is no exception, but I am trying to get better! So let's take our time machine and set it back to Tuesday, July 8, 2008 ...............................................................................

...................................We are now arriving at the Lumber Rumblers. These guys were working hard, but the rain was playing with them. It would rain a little and then stop, then maybe a little more rain again. They weren't sure if they should cover things up or keep working. They had just finished tossing all their equipment into the back of the truck and the rain stopped. Work had started again by the time we got there. We got reports that the lunches at this site were really good and that God was blessing their crew and their work. Three members of the crew had just returned from going door to door and praying with local residents. I'm not real sure about this, but I was told that I did have an accent, but strangely, according to Sandy, it was a Canadian accent. I'm not sure where she got that from, eh.

Next stop - Highway D and the Level Heads! Once again, the rain was playing with these folks. One of the first things we heard at this site was "WE NEED SHINGLES ON THE ROOF!!" This was an urgent plea so they could get the plastic weighted down. The next thing I knew, I had a bundle of shingles on my shoulder, carrying them up the ladder. After many trips up and down the ladder, the roof was protected from the rain. Then it stopped raining again. I think that God has a sense of humor. What else was going on around these parts? There was a discussion on y'all and whether it was plural or singular and if coke or soda was the proper term (these of course were brought up because of the Canadian accent remark from the last crew). I also learned that soda is a "yankee" term. Jessica from Arkansas told us that they can't tell if Jeff is lying or telling the truth. Oh, and Jake (from Arkansas), I sure hope that they don't "accidentally" push you off the roof! And finally, there were two questions of the day for this group. 1. What is Seth's real name? and 2. "What's a gully washer?"

Next on the agenda, Mitre Joints in Bonne Terre. Here, we learned many things. We learned All About Potties. We also found out more about Bob from TN. Angela thought that the little white butterflies were exciting and Emily must enjoy the thrill of nearly falling off roofs. One last thing that was learned from this very knowledgeable group was how to neutralize a jelly fish sting. This crew had been hard at work on their roof and things looked like they were moving right along.

This concludes our time travel trip for now. Please make sure that your tray tables are locked and that your chairs are in the full upright position. Thank your for traveling with Arrow Time Travels.
